Step 4: Seam Binding on the mat:

You may either purchase seam binding from a store or make your own at home using complementary fabric. Align the raw edges of the double-fold seam binding with the edge of the size placemat before opening it. Enclose the placemat's raw edge by carefully sewing along the inside fold of the binding.
